Alberta Health Services (AHS) provides limited coverage for physiotherapy treatment only for the following conditions: injury resulting in a fracture, post- surgery, or if you fall into the classification of “low- income”. Only clinics with a contract may provide coverage by AHS. Bragg Creek Physiotherapy Ltd. does not have a contract with AHS, therefore your treatment fees are not covered by AHS. You can contact Alberta Health Services to determine where you can receive treatment for these conditions.
Extended Health Benefits
Many patients have coverage for physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture and a health spending account, through their Extended Benefits Providers (EBP). Each company’s coverage is different, please contact your EBP to determine the extent of your coverage. We request payment after each visit and will provide you with a receipt that can be submitted to your EBP. Some benefits companies require a doctor’s prescription for you to be reimbursed for treatment.
Motor Vehicle Insurance
If you have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, please contact your insurance agent before making an appointment for physiotherapy or massage therapy. Your insurance company will assist you in filling out the required documents. Following your initial physiotherapy assessment, your insurance company will advise you on the number of treatments provided for your injury and the period in which they must be completed. Typically, they provide coverage for physiotherapy and massage therapy and necessary medical supplies.
